Nail Biting

If you bite your nails or pick at your fingers you know how compelling it can be. And having to keep your hands hidden in social or professional situations is not only inconvenient but can also cause unnecessary embarrassment.

The fact is, nail biting is actually very common and can often be fixed quite quickly. It is simply the remnant of a childhood behaviour that we developed for comfort, just like thumb sucking. Nail biting typically increases during periods of stress. It is largely unconscious and for this reason sheer will power alone does not tend to solve the problem.
